Question: In the specifications section 01 11 00 Summary of Work, there are several instances in the base bid description of work where it references providing new wood stud walls. However, on the contract drawings, detail B1 on sheet A601, it shows all of the different partition types being of metal stud construction. Which is correct?

CEU Response: All new interior walls shall be metal stud construction.

Question: On drawing pages C101, C102, Pages 6 & 7 of 63, Revision #1, 6/6/16, for HSCGG1-16-B-PRV188, Major Repairs to Brant Point, there is a site plan and an elevation and accompanying details for an operable security fence. However, in the Specifications, Table of Contents, there is no CSI Master Format Division 32 31 16 "WELDED WIRE FENCES & GATES" section or 32 31 26 "WIRE FENCES & GATES" section included. It appears that the only information to further develop this scope of work without a referenced manufacturer as a performance standard for the bidder to work towards is on the drawings.

Also, Note #8 schedules signs to be affixed to the fence, what signs, how many, what do they state?

CEU Response: The fencing in question is covered by specification section 32 31 13.53 "High Security Chain-Link Fences and Gates". There are no signs that will be affixed to the fence.

Question: I noticed in the specifications section 08 52 00 that the new windows are simply designated “WOOD WINDOWS”.

Is it the Coast Guard’s intent not to install any type of clad window with the appropriate Impact Zone 3 protection?

CEU Response: See attached revised specification section 08 52 00.

Question: Specification Section 01 11 00 Page 3 Bid Option #2A-MMB-Replace Exterior Windows specifies that "All exterior work is subject to the guidelines set forth by the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO).

Refer to the Paragraph 2: Historic Facilities." Where is this document in the bid documents please?

CEU Response: The USCG has since secured State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) approval to replace "in-kind" for all exterior work. Contractor shall comply with the project plans and specification.

One of the vendors that is furnishing the shore ties has a concern about the available space, specifically for the 480V shore tie.

His question is: "Please verify what the available footprint is for the replacement 480V power mound called out in Bid Option #6?"

CEU Response: This will not be a shore-tie installed within what we call a power mound. This should be a single 480VAC (tapped to 450VAC) receptacle installed on the railing as is the existing. Any additional information will need to be field verified.
