Amendment 0002 STA Montauk Building Envelop Repairs

02/22/2016

Question 1: There are no existing fixtures or boxes at 2 of the outside light locations on the South wall of the UPH building as shown on Sheet 29. Are we adding additional fixture boxes and if so must the wiring be concealed inside the building or can exposed conduit be run along the exterior?

Response 1:

Provide an outlet box into the exterior wall such that the B fixtures can be supported from the wall sheathing of the exterior wall and mounted with the fixture edges tight to the wall.

Per the “Conduit & Wiring Notes” on sheet E001: As the circuitry is drawn in an arc, and Sheet E001 indicates that circuitry shown in an arc is concealed circuitry. The circuitry and conduit is required to be concealed.

The following routing permits running certain conduits exposed inside the building, and is acceptable: Extend lighting circuit conduit for Type B fixtures up and out of 1st floor electric closet, up on corridor wall on second floor (in alcove of entry doors to bedrooms) to attic, extend across attic floor to south wall of UPH, drop conduit down (exposed and painted) in outside corner of Bedroom 204, and punch through wall to serve Type B fixture. Follow a similar path for conduit in south east corner of Bedroom 218. Provide an outlet box into the exterior wall such that the B fixtures can be supported from the wall sheathing of the exterior wall and mounted with the fixture edges tight to the wall. Support, flash and seal as required to achieve a weatherproof, watertight installation that will withstand hurricane force winds.
