Emergency Drydock Repairs
Amendment A0001
Response to Requests for Clarification:
1) Question: Although nothing is mentioned in Work Item #3, one of the pictures shows red marked lagging. Is there any asbestos lagging or insulation in the impacted work areas that is known and should be considered in the response?
Answer: There is no known asbestos present
2) Question: Work Item #4 specifically indicates a 24 hour dry docking window after arrival. Although no specific dry-docking position is specified, what is the anticipated approval period you will require upon submission of our docking calculations for approval? Is there any specific reasons (flooding, cracking) requiring immediate docking?
Answer: Due to it being an emergency situation we would like the boat lifted to affect repairs as quick as possible. After reviewing DILIGENCE's EDD we feel Docking Position #1 is suitable for repairs.
3) Question: Work Item #5 3.3.9.2 requires hot water circulation be provided. Is it anticipated the crew will remain aboard during the repair availability? If so, what is the anticipated crew complement that will remain aboard? Should the Contractor be required to disable a habitability system (sewage, potable water, etc) in the course of these repairs, are the provisions of Standard Specifications to provide duty section berthing and sanitary facilities applicable?
If so, please provide the number of anticipated duty section personnel and gender to facilitate planning.
Answer: Yes, the crew will remain aboard. There are 81 crew members: 78 male and 3 female. The contractor will be required to provide temp services IAW CLIN 5. No duty section berthing will be required.
4) Question: Now that the response date has been changed to 0800, 3 February, what is the anticipated award date and vessel arrival at the contractor’s facility?
Answer: Contract will be awarded by Friday, 04 February 2011. Cutter arrival will depend on award location; if it’s in TAMPA/St. Pete, arrival will be quick; if it's in Jacksonville, we will have to ask the
Ops folks how long it will take to get around there.
