Amendment Number A00001
14A. This Amendment is issued to answer the following questions submitted in response to this solicitation:
Question 1: Work Item D-001. General Welding, Provide. Paragraph 1.1. Can pictures be provided?
Answer: No pictures will be provided. Contractor may request site visit if necessary.
See paragraph (12) of the solicitation for further information.
Question 2: Work Item D-004. Rub Rail, Renew. There is no scope of work about installing the rub rails inner sealant as shown on BP#47B MLB 611-020 Rev H sheet 3 of 3 item 8 & 9. Has this been changed and only needing the outer sealant as called out for?
Answer: No. The work item still requires the rail to be installed with inner sealant behind the rail as well as the top and bottom (edge)
Question 3. Work Item D-005. Bulkhead Penetrations, Frame 5, Inspect. Is Contractor to renew the standard areas (6 inch by 6 inch area of bulkhead insulation from around each penetration in the engine room) but in the Survivors compartment renew all the insulation on BLKHD 5 from the deck plates down. Is this the concerned area?
Answer: Yes. The insulation is to be removed and renewed on the gear space side of blkhd 5 from the deck plates down in both gear spaces and on top of the fuel tank. The removal of the barrier material on the engine room side of blkhd 5 in the vicinity of the fuel tank is limited to the exposed barrier material, not the material under the insulation board. Also it is not being reinstalled.
Question 4. Work Item D-006. Rub Rail, Remove, Inspect and Install. There is no scope of work about installing the rub rails outer or inner sealant as shown on BP#47B MLB 611-020 Rev H sheet 3 of 3. Is the sealant to be applied accordingly?
Answer: This work item requires the ctr to install the rub rails with inside sealant and edge sealant.
Question 5. Work Item D-024. Standard Hoses, Renew. Are these hoses Non- Applicable, which means they are not part of the hoses to be renewed?

Answer: The N/A’s are for the specific block description. The first block is for the fitting type- hose 25 & 76 does not have a fitting, it is clamped to the shaft seal and the blkhd 5 s/w piping adapter. The second block is for hose type – hose 25, 53-A, & 76 are required to meet the standard IAW SAE- J1942. The third block is hose length – for hoses 25, 76, & 53-A utilize existing hose for length. For hoses 53 B-D, these are hose assemblies and it is up to the CTR to renew these hoses as long as they meet SAE-J1942 standard. But these hoses are special fittings and it has been found one of the only options is to procure the assemblies directly from Hypro Marine.
Question 6. Work Item D-017. Various Piping, Inspect. Is the contractor to supply all parts such as flanged hoses from the mufflers, etc. on the cross over system to be removed from the boat and inspected accordingly, or just the valves?
Main Engine Exhaust
N/A Exhaust crossover valve
Engine Room, FR 2
Answer: The requirement for the Exhaust Crossover Valve is in Work Item 18 Sea Valves Renew and the intent is for the CTR to provide and renew the entire assembly – valve, rubber sleeves, clamps, flanges, and hardware.
Question 7. Work Item D-030. Hull Identification Markings, Apply. Is Contractor to just renew what is in the table or do all the strips have to be sandblasted and painted accordingly?
