As radar magnetron ages, range and number of arcs change representing degree of performance loss. Performance of transmitting system is related to range to innermost arc, while receiving syste.mcan be evaluated by number of arcs displayed.
Additionally, two voltage readings in the Maintenance Menu will provide good information about the condition of the magnetron and the receiver.

Avoid eye and skin contact with detergents/soaps.
Wash blue filter material and metallic mesh filer in a solution of fresh water and detergent.
Rinse filters with fresh water.
CAREFULLY squeeze (DO NOT WRING) excess water from blue filter materials and dry filters careful not to damage fragile filter elements.
(4) Allow filters to dry thoroughly.
Reinstall air filters.
Reinstall air filter access cover.
(1) (2)
(3) using low pressure air being
An EMI filter is located in back of SAOP and is designed for electronic interference. Removal and cleaning are not required. Air flows out of this filter when power is applied. When power is off, filters will not stop dust and small particles from entering.
Never use commercial wipes to clean cathode ray tube face since commercial wipes often contain fiberglass or other abrasive materials. Microscopic scratches caused by abrasive materials accumulate over years and can affect viewing clarity.
Clean Operator Position (SAOPITBOP) Display Screen.
a. Clean light accumulations of dust and dirt from display screen surface with a soft, damp cloth. For heavy accumulations of dust, dirt or other foreign matter, apply an approved glass cleaner and wipe with a soft clean cloth.
b. Return equipment to readiness condition.
