STATEMENT OF OBJECTIVES

FOSI CONVERSION

HSCG38-17-Q-900045

1.0 SCOPE OF WORK

The United States Coast Guard (USCG), Aviation Logistics Center (ALC), Engineering Services Division (ESD) Technical Publications currently uses Arbortext 7.0 (M010) to produce wiring manuals to be used by aviation technicians throughout the fleet. Vector images are used in conjunction with Print Composer to achieve final results. The current issue is a technician can no longer perform a keyword\character search of a wiring diagram within a wiring manual. After discussion with the software vendor PTC, Inc., the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of the Arbortext software, it was determined that our current FOSI cannot be modified to allow this ability.

2.2. Using Arbortext 7.0 (M010) and the stylesheet developed by the Contractor, the technical writer shall be able to produce a wiring manual to the technician who will be able to perform a search within a wiring diagram published in the wiring manual.

3.2. Deliverable shall be made to the USCG within six weeks after the receipt of the current FOSI from the USCG, ALC, ESD Technical Publications.
