MAIN ROTOR SHAFTS AND TAIL ROTOR SPIDERS REPAIRS

STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW)

1.0 BACKGROUND

The United States Coast Guard (USCG) currently operates 102 MH-65 helicopters. The MH-65 helicopter is primarily a Short Range Recovery (SRR) aircraft used by the USCG to perform search and rescue, law enforcement and homeland security missions. The USCG missions require frequent operation at lower altitudes and in salt-laden environments. These environments accelerate corrosion on airframe structures, engines and components of the aircraft.

2.0 SCOPE

This requirement is for the test, evaluation and repair of the Main Rotor Shafts and Tail Rotor Spiders (Main Rotor Shafts, Part Number (P/N) 365A31-1179-05 and Tail Rotor Spiders, P/N 365A33-3541-01) utilized on the MH65 aircraft. The Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for this part is Airbus Helicopter, France (CAGE Code F0210). Upon receipt of the Main Rotor Shafts and Tail Rotor Spiders, the Contractor shall perform a test and evaluation to determine the condition of the items. Any items found as No Fault Found (NFF) or Beyond Economical Repair (BER) shall be returned to the USCG In Accordance With (IAW) paragraphs 5.3. All other items shall be repaired IAW this Statement of Work (SOW), OEM Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM) and Technical Orders (TO).

Work shall be performed at the Contractor’s facility or USCG approved facility. The Contractor shall provide all necessary parts, materials, labor, tooling, test equipment and facilities to test, and repair the components listed in this contract.

The objective is for the Contractor to provide Aviation Logistics Center (ALC), Elizabeth City, NC with repaired Main Rotor Shafts and Tail Rotor Spiders that are Ready for Installation (RFI) in support of our efforts to sustain 102 aircraft. This will entail the repair of approximately twenty-six (26) Main Rotor Shafts and twenty-eight (28) Tail Rotor Spiders per year with the possibility to exceed that quantity if there is a requirement.
