2.0 DEFINITIONS.
2.1 Commercial Catalog Price. Price will be based on the current market price to repair and for replacement parts as required.
2.2 Ready –For-Issue (RFI). The classification RFI indicates a part is airworthy and ready for installation in a Coast Guard aircraft. Parts classified as RFI by the Contractor must have been inspected and returned to service in accordance with the manufacturer’s approved repair process. A Certificate of Conformance must accompany the returned part. Items received after six months after contract award must also have an FFA Form 8130-3 or EASA Form 1, Airworthiness Approval Tag must accompany the returned part.
2.3 Service Bulletins. Service instructions published by the type certificate holder (normally the original equipment manufacturer). Two classes of service bulletin are recognized: Mandatory and Optional. “Mandatory” service bulletins are published by the type certificate holder to provide technical instructions for maintenance actions and inspections that could affect safety. “Optional” service bulletins are published by the type certificate holder to provide technical instructions for maintenance actions and improvements that are not considered mandatory. “Recommended” service bulletins are considered “Mandatory” for this contract. Instructions that are published by the certificate holder in other approved formats, such as “service letters” are handled in the same manner as service bulletins.
