STATEMENT OF WORK
Vendor shall furnish all labor, tools, equipment, supplies and personnel necessary for the performance of all operations associated with providing grounds maintenance at two DGPS sites on Coast Guard property that houses DGPS transmitting towers at two locations on the Island of Hawaii.
Site one is at Upolu Point approximately 20 miles northwest of Kamuela off of the old Coast Guard Station Road. Site consists of a 90 foot radio beacon antenna with accompanying ground plane. Ground plane consists of approximately 120 copper wire radials extending outward from the antenna installed 6 inches beneath the soil. Radial lengths are approximately 300 feet outward from antenna. Also on site are two antenna masts installed on concrete foundation and an electronic equipment hut. Site is approximately 24.79 acres.
Site two is at Pahoa Station at 15-2501 Keaau-Pahua Road, Pahoa, HI 96778. Site is approximately 18.03 acres of uneven Pahoehoe Lava. Description of equipment on site is the same as at Site one - Upolu Point.
Vendor shall provide grounds maintenance at both sites which includes maintaining the vegetation growth to a maximum height of 6-12 inches or whatever height is most practicable for the vendor within the fenced or operational areas of the sites. This is to include all vegetation around the towers, antennas, structures, road and ground plans.
Care must be taken to prevent damage to the ground plan radials while cutting vegetation. Radials are approximately 6 inches below soil. Cutting should not cut into soil to avoid damage.
Work to be done as required to keep vegetation at required height and scope of work includes hauling off cut vegetation and debris removal associated with the performance of the contract.
All maintenance shall be conducted during daylight hours.
Periodic inspection of work will be made by a Contracting Officers Technical Representative (COTR) . If any work is rejected by the COTR, the Contractor shall be given instructions on how to satisfactorily complete the work.
