3. CONTRACTORS REQUEST FOR CLARIFICATION FORM.
SOL NO. HSCG29-14-Q-PMW041
ROOF REPAIR @ USCG SECTOR NEW ORLEANS
Q1. WHERE IS THE “CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBILITY QUESTIONAIRE” LOCATED? WE ARE UNABLE TO FIND
IT IN THE “NOTICE TO OFFERORS”
Answer: Please disregard.
Q2. IS THIS PROPOSAL TO INCLUDE THE INVASIVE INVESTIGATION COSTS PLUS TO COST TO DO REPAIRS?
IT SEEMS COUNTER-INTUITIVE TO PRICE AN INVASIVE INVESTIGATION (WHICH WILL DETERMINE REPAIRS NEED TO BE DONE AND SUBSEQUENT COSTS), AND THEN COST REPAIRS PRIOR TO SAID
INVESTIGATION.?
Answer: Proposal is to align with SOW to include investigation & repairs as a composite cost
Q3. IS IT PERMISSIBLE TO BASE PRICE THE INVESTIGATION AND UNIT PRICE THE ITEMS THAT MAY NEED REPAIRS (e.g. RESEALING WINDOWS @ $0.00 EA, REPLACE BACKER ROD @ $0.00/LF, FILL PITCH
POCKETS @ $0.00 EA., AND SO ON.?
Answer: No, based on our response to Q2 the SOW outlines investigation, work and materials to be priced together. Basis for quotation should reflect SOW format.
Q4. IF PROPOSAL IS TO INCLUDE ALL PRICING FOR INVESTIGATION AND REPAIRS, THEN THE COSTS
WOULD BE SUBSTANTIAL, WHICH IN THIS CASE, IS THERE A GOVERNMENT PRICE RANGE ON
THIS SOLICITATION, WHICH IS NORMAL FOR GOVERNMENT PROPOSALS?
Answer: There is no established government price range on this contract. The site visit was required to allow contractors ample opportunity to ask questions and visit the location enabling a better estimate for potential material and labor costs.
