The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Defense Sciences Office (DSO) invites participation in Polyplexus, which is an online, professional, technical conversation between the research community and DARPA Program Managers. The shared task of this group is to rigorously explore the trends and possible applications of emerging science and technology in a specific technical area defined by a participating Program Manager.
The technical area under consideration in Topic 19 (Computable Models) was developed from Topic 13 (Rethink Physics Modeling) by refining Topic 13’s subject from generating multi-physics models and simulating directly from a description of the phenomena, to investigating and quantifying the benefits of new and emerging mathematics and algorithms to enable direct generation of accurate and efficient multi-physics, multi-scale (time and space) simulation codes for complex physical systems relevant to DoD.
Participants are encouraged to visit Topic 13 in Polyplexus (https://polyplexus.com/incubator?idIncubator=254) for background information on Topic 19’s technical area.
DARPA DSO is planning to expand its research in the computable models technical area by releasing an anticipated Disruption Opportunity notice on beta.SAM.gov, titled Computable Models, to be issued under DARPA-PA-19-02, the program announcement for the Disruptioneering program. In support of that release, DSO is conducting a live question and answer (Ask Me Anything) session under Topic 19 in Polyplexus with the Program Manager on polyplexus.com on January 21, 2020, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM Eastern time. Additional details regarding the live question and answer session will be available in polyplexus.com (https://polyplexus.com/incubator?idIncubator=326) Additional details on Disruptioneering Opportunities can be found in the Program Announcement (PA) for Disruptioneering, DARPA-PA-19-02 posted on beta.sam.gov as well as the DARPA Opportunities page (https://www.darpa.mil/work-with-us/opportunities).
Access to the Polyplexus platform should be requested directly from the polyplexus.com website.
Participants are strongly encouraged to apply for access as soon as possible to ensure adequate time to be granted access prior to the live question and answer session.
