About this file

This document includes a federal contract opportunity announcement and related proposal summary slide template. The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is soliciting innovative research proposals through April 2019 to establish whether quantum information processing using noisy intermediate-scale quantum devices has an advantage over classical methods for solving combinatorial optimization problems of national security relevance. The Optimization with Noisy Intermediate-Scale Quantum devices program seeks new ideas for hybrid classical-quantum approaches and theoretical foundations exploring where quantum information processing could significantly impact combinatorial optimization. Proposed research should enable revolutionary rather than evolutionary advances in science, devices, and noisy intermediate-scale quantum systems. Research primarily resulting in improvements to the existing state of practice is specifically excluded.
