Washington DC locations.
1.2 Background: The Armed Forces Retirement Home (AFRH) is a Continuing Care Retirement
Community (CCRC), dating back to 1851 when it was established as the United States Soldiers Home. In
1991, the AFRH became an independent Federal agency with jurisdiction over its Washington, DC campus which was formerly the Old Soldiers’ Home and its Gulfport, Mississippi campus which was formerly the United States Naval Home. While the total number of residents can vary from month-to-month, AFRH provides a home for approximately 1000 former enlisted personnel in their retirement years at both the Gulfport and Washington campuses. This Home provides retired veterans with the common daily living needs, medical, life safety, social, recreational and occupational activities for many interests. While residents live in this community, AFRH provides for their overall health care needs in a high quality manner; including on site primary care, medical care, and a continuum of long-term care services as residents transition from independent living.
1.3 Objectives: The AFRH Resident community currently has two options for television and internet services. They can choose to subscribe from a regional cable provider or utilize a cost effect system provided by a contracted service to the AFRH. The government is looking for a cost effective system to provide television, internet and in-house programming for a senior living community.
1.4 Scope: The contractor shall provide all management, supervision, personnel, services, materials, transportation and tools for the cable services installation, maintenance and broadcast at the Washington, DC (AFRH-W) and Gulfport, MS (AFRH-G) campus locations.
