17 JULY 2013
1.0 Introduction:
Washington Headquarters Services (WHS) is a Department of Defense (DoD) field activity and provides administrative and operational support to a number of DoD activities in the National Capital Region (NCR).WHS Enterprise Information Technology Services Directorate (EITSD) resulted from the 2011 merger of WHS’s Information Technology Management Directorate (ITMD) and the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) Chief Information Officer (CIO) organization. Washington Headquarters Services provides a wide range of administrative and operational services that enable DOD components to accomplish the shared mission of supporting the Secretary of Defense. Under the direction of the Director, Washington Headquarters Services (WHS), the Facilities Services Directorate (FSD) is responsible for designing, constructing, and implementing the infrastructure for the Mark Center. The Enterprise IT Services Directorate (EITSD) is responsible for operating and maintaining the IT infrastructure for the Mark Center Building in collaboration with the US Army Information Technology Agency

2.0 Background:

EITSD assisted OSD and WHS customers’ move to Mark Center with all of their IT service requirements and will continue to support these customers after the relocation. EITSD will provide advice and assistance to the Mark Center Tenants and other senior managers to ensure IT is acquired and information resources are managed in a manner that implements the policies and procedures of legislation, including the Paperwork Reduction Act and the Clinger-Cohen Act.
