Salient Characteristics – It is essential for the root camera to be able to take non-destructive 360-degree images of roots actively growing year-round. The camera must be able to take high resolution images at variable soil depths and perform under a wide range of soil and weather conditions. The camera must be portable with easy setup and takedown for movements to multiple imaging sites for high-throughput phenotyping. The camera must come with a root analysis program capable of tracking and measuring root system architecture.
