Statement of Work (SOW)
ROBOTICS SOFTWARE For the Elementary Science Classroom To Support Problem-Solving, Inquiry, and Standards-Based Science Activities, Including Those Used in GAVRT Trainings
1.0 INTRODUCTION
The Contractor shall provide all materials defined in this SOW. The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) acknowledges the need to provide students with a Robotics Engineering software used in problem-solving, inquiry, and standards-based science that incorporates real-life studies connected to various fields of science and mathematics.
2.0 BACKGROUND
2.1 The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) serves the educational needs of the dependents of military and civilian employees by providing PK-12 instruction to approximately 90,000 students in seven states, thirteen foreign countries, Guam, and Puerto Rico. The number of students varies based on the deployment of military troops worldwide. DoDEA's curriculum, resources, and student achievement scores on standardized assessments compare favorably to high-performing US public schools.
2.2 DoDEA is divided into three administrative areas. DDESS (Domestic Dependent Elementary and Secondary Schools) covers seven states, Puerto Rico, and (for administrative purposes) Cuba. DoDDS (Department of Defense Dependent Schools) is divided into DoDDS-Europe and DoDDS-Pacific. DoDDS-Europe consists of England, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, and Bahrain. DoDDS-Pacific includes Korea, Japan (mainland and Okinawa), and (for administrative purposes) Guam.
DoDEA acknowledges the need to provide students with knowledge and skills to conduct real-life studies that incorporates research and data analysis. Consequently, DoDEA requires a need to purchase Robotics Engineering software for students to participate in inquiry-based engineering and data analysis.
3.0 SCOPE OF WORK
3.1 The Contractor(s) shall provide each shipping address with the specified number of each Robotics Engineering software equipment listed in 3.3 for approximately 38 schools/classrooms.
3.2 All equipment listed below shall interface with Windows XP. All equipment shall have appropriate supporting software explaining their use in the science classroom.
3.3 The Contractor(s) shall provide Educational Robotics kit that contains the following:
3.3.1 Rechargeable lithium battery and charger
3.3.2 3 servo motors
3.3.3 Light Sensor
3.3.4 Ultrasonic Sound Senor
3.3.5 Sound Senor
3.3.6 Touch Sensors
3.3.7 At Least Three Rotation Sensors That Are Built Into The Motors
3.3.8 Three Converter Cables (For Use With The Sensors)
3.3.9 Seven Connector Cables (One .2m, Two .5m And Four .35m)
3.3.10 Three Lamps
