HE125418R3001 - Questions and Answers Round 2
Inquiry 1: The PWS has two section with the same number scheme, 4.9 Shipping and Delivery and 4.9 General. Will the government please provided a correct copy of the solicitation?
Response 1: Vendors shall consider “General” to be number 4.10, to include is subparagraphs. The Government MAY issue an amendment to address this.
Inquiry 2: Will the government extend the submittal due date to January 23, 2018?
Response 2: No, the Government feels the solicitation has been posted enough time for vendors to submit proposals.
Inquiry 3: Because of the size of the technical volume and the LOE required to provide a comprehensive response, would the government please consider providing a 5-business day extension of the due date, to 23 January?
Response 3: No, the Government feels the solicitation has been posted enough time for vendors to submit proposals.
Inquiry 4: Will the government please clarify exactly what document(s) it requires to be printed, and if documents to be printed should be submitted with this RFP/ IDIQ submission, or at the Task Order (TO) level after award?
Response 4: This is not part of the solicitation. If any parts will need to be printed, there will be instructions given.
Inquiry 5: Is there someplace we need to register to receive bid documents? I have the 92-page solicitation dated 12/10/2017, are there any other documents we should have?
Response 5: All solicitation documents are posted on Federal Business Opportunities for HE125418R3001.
Inquiry6: What is the installation scenario where the Short Throw Projectors will be needed? Are the existing White Boards being removed and replaced with new projectors and standard whiteboards? Or will be projectors be used with existing Smart Boards? A mixture of both? If this is a retrofit, please describe the model of Smart Board being retrofitted.
Response 6: The projection option is in place to provide an alternative to an Interactive Flat Panel, but would require full functionality. These will work on existing or installed whiteboards that are not touch-sensitive. The board surface is not part of the contract, just the projector and associated peripherals to detect touch on a non-electronic board.
Inquiry 7: Is the Past Performance available as a separate document that could be easily sent to our clients?
Response 7: Yes, the Past Performance Questionnaires were provided in the solicitation along with submission instructions.
Inquiry 8: Will the due date be extended past January 16th?
Response 8: No, the Government feels the solicitation has been posted enough time for vendors to submit proposals.
Inquiry 9: The RFQ has us quoting a quantity of one (1) for each item, however, it’s our understanding the plan is to refresh entire schools or bases. Is that correct?
Response 9: That is correct, input the price for 1 item. The prices vendors input will be the maximum price vendors may charge on future order. However, awardees will have the opportunity to provide competitive pricing for the quantities requested at the Task Order level.
Inquiry 10: What is the installation scenario where the Short Throw Projectors will be needed? Are the existing White Boards being removed and replaced with new projectors and standard whiteboards? Or will be projectors be used with existing Smart Boards? A mixture of both? If this is a retrofit, please describe the model of Smart Board being retrofitted.
Response 10: Either they would be replaced with standard white boards (Not part of this contract) or they would be placed in a situation where a standard whiteboard already exists. We would not recommend they be placed over an old Smartboard.
Inquiry 11: Salient Characteristics and Unit Price List, Requirement: "Powered height adjustment ranging at least 3 feet". Commercial Off the Shelf mounts and carts that are motor driven for these categories of displays do not exceed a range of movement greater than 24" (2 feet). Is it the government's contention to utilize custom mounts that can supply the range of movement specified?
Response 11: DoDEA does not seek customized mounts. We would seek the maximum variance allowed in the market without customization. It seems that DoDEA could achieve the 3' difference based where on the wall it was mounted.
Inquiry 12: The typical cable requirement for connecting DoDEA laptops to Interactive Displays is a Mini-DisplayPort-to-HDMI adaptor and a HDMI cable. What is the typical HDMI cable length?
Response 12: Cable lengths will vary by installation, but are typically 6-12 feet in length.
