1. The SOW paragraph 4.2.1 states – “provide mathematics student textbooks in hardcover.” Our consumable textbook model provides an opportunity for extended investigations, analysis and alternate solution paths. Will you accept proposals that include soft cover, consumable textbooks? Student textbooks are sent new each year.

Answer: No soft cover consumable textbooks will be accepted.

2) We would like to present some textbook content as mock-ups and some software content as sample units. Is this permissible? Our research-based middle school math curricula is in the final stages of development which will allow us the flexibility to customize content and sequences to the meet specific DoDEA math program needs.

Answer: No sample units or textbook content mockups will be accepted.

3) Will DoDEA Math standards be modified to incorporate the Common Core State Math Standards during the life of this contract?

Answer: The current DoDEA Math Standards are to be used for this solicitation.

4) May we send storyboard or display items to the July 8-9 set-up that illustrate important functionality of our solution?

Answer: Yes.

5) Can you clarify whether there is an opportunity, as part of this RFQ process, to submit narrative descriptions of our solution?

Answer: No narrative descriptions will be accepted.

6) When will the contract be awarded?

Answer: The anticipated award date will be the third quarter of 2010.

7) When will implementation begin?

Answer: Requirement is for School Year 2011/2012.

8) Replacement quantities - I’m assuming, as in the past, that all replacement numbers in all solicitations are at 10% of the Base Year, although there may be some type-o’s in your solicitation(s). Is this a correct assumption?

Answer: Yes

9) Shipping and handling - May I assume there is a shipping and handling charge on the Base Year and all Option Years in all solicitations?

Answer: Yes

10) Math Specialists - For bidding purposes, I would like to know the approximate numbers of Math Specialists in the training for support materials.

Answer: HE1254-10-T-0037 Math Grades 6-8 25-30 Math Specialists

11) For the following SOW paragraphs:

4.6.1 Correlate the student textbook and related materials shall be correlated to the DoDEA curriculum content standards.

4.6.2 Correlate each course by quarter to identify where the texts addresses each of the standards in the DoDEA scope and sequence, which will be provided to the contractor after the award.

Is the correlation done after awarded contract, or does it need to be completed as part of our quote due on July 7, 2010?

Answer: Correlation to DODEA standards is listed in the solicitation as a deliverable. This requirement is to be completed after contract award.
