SAMPLE TASK 3
STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW)
CONSTRUCTION SERVICES SUPPORT CONTRACT
EXCAVATION SUPPORT
TESTBED AREA
DEFENSE THREAT REDUCTION AGENCY (DTRA)

SECTION 1 - SCOPE
1.1 BACKGROUND.
1.2 OBJECTIVE. The objective of this sample task is to recover an inert penetrator.
1.3 SCHEDULE. The Contractor shall begin work under this delivery order upon notice to proceed (NTP). All work shall be completed within two (2) weeks.
SECTION 2 - APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS
2.1 DRAWINGS. Not used.
2.2 SPECIFICATIONS. In addition to the General Requirements Specifications contained in the basic contract, the following specifications apply to this work. Unless otherwise noted they have been issued previously and are not enclosed here.

2.3 REFERENCES. As detailed in the basic contract.
2.4 Bring discrepancies between this document, the drawings, and specifications as well as between those documents and the basic Contract, to the immediate attention of the COR.
SECTION 3 - REQUIREMENTS.
3.1 PARTS. Not used.
3.2 CONSTRUCTION. The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, and equipment (except as noted) required to recover an inert penetrator as part of the provisions of contract line item number 0001AE. Do not include equipment that is not listed on the equipment rate sheet.
3.2.1 Assume the inert penetrator is located at a depth of 30 feet below grade in previously disturbed soil. The task includes excavation, removal of the 1 ton penetrator (to be left at the site for disposal by others), backfill in 12 inch lifts to original grade, and compaction to a minimum of 85% optimum moisture content.
3.2.2 Assume the necessary equipment is not on-site and that the penetrator must be recovered within one week and the backfill/compaction operations are to be completed the following week.
SECTION 4 - SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/CONDITIONS
4.1 The wage determinations included in the basic contract shall be used for work covered in this delivery order. If overtime is required, such costs shall be clearly shown in the Contractor’s cost proposal.
4.2 Reports and Submittals.
4.2.1 The Contractor shall submit a hazard analysis for the project and update (as required) the site safety and health plan for construction events included in this delivery order IAW Specification Section 01110 (Safety, Health, and Emergency Response) of the basic contract.
4.3 Government Project Personnel. TBD.
