Q1. Reference list of 14 subject areas on PWS page 4.
- What school(s) or type of school do you expect to offer these courses, and do you expect it to be more than one school?
- Is CEU accreditation acceptable for these courses?
A1. A) Based on the solicitation one organization will need to be able to provide courses based on page 4 of the PWS. The actual subject areas can come from various sources but housed on one online platform.
B) Yes, the on-line learning platform shall offer a variety of Continuing Education Credits (CEC’s) or Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) from a nationally recognized accreditation body (i.e. NCCA or DEAC)
Q2. For newly developed custom, service specific curriculum and certifications, who do you expect to accredit CEUs and the certification?
A2. If required, the government would request CEU’s from a NCCA or DEAC organization
Q3. Is the vendor required to pay for certification exam preparation materials?
A3. The solicitation is to provide unlimited continuing education training and education credits through a commercially available on-line learning platform. The online courses should provide the CEU’s and not necessarily a NCCA or DEAC certification.
Q4. Can you provide the current certification status (number and type of certifications) of the 800 Navy Fitness Professionals?
A4. Navy Fitness has employees that do and do not have NCCA/DEAC certifications. The primary purpose of the platform is to provide those with NCCA/DEAC certifications with CEUs or provide courses to those interested in obtaining a NCCA/DEAC certification.
Q5. Is there a limit on the number and type of certifications each employee can obtain?
A5. No.
Q6. Does the certification have to be directly related to the employee's job? Who makes this determination?
A6. The courses should relate to the scope of Navy Fitness. The Navy Fitness program includes nutrition, sports, fitness and aquatics.
Q7. Is the vendor required to pay for retesting if an employee fails a certification exam?
A7. No, the purpose of this solicitation is to provide CEUs.
Q8. Exam prices vary: ACE charges $399 for the Personal Trainer exam and NASM charges $599. Can the vendor require the employee to take the least expensive certification exam for a specific certification area?
A8. Total number of CEU courses is up to the vendor. Offerors will be evaluated based on quantity of qualified courses and variation of qualified courses.
