About this file
This is Addendum #1 to RFP 27-01 issued by Holyoke Community College in Massachusetts for trash disposal and recycling services, containing clarifications and answers to vendor questions. The addendum corrects the proposal due date from Thursday, July 1, 2026 to Thursday, July 2, 2026 at 11:00 AM. Regarding service specifications, the college clarified that the confidential paper recycling container must be a 15-yard unit (not 8-yard as originally specified), and upon emptying, vendors must provide a certificate of destruction; not all materials require pre-shredding before placement in the container. For recycling services, the college requires between 15 and 20 recycling totes for tin and glass to be emptied weekly from lots lower J and H.
The addendum does not contain pricing information, set-aside details, insurance requirements, prevailing wage rates, or other financial terms, as these details are contained in the base RFP document. This addendum serves solely to correct administrative procedural matters and clarify specific service requirements based on vendor inquiries submitted by the June 17, 2026 question deadline.

Trash Disposal & Recycling Services
RFP #27-01 / Addendum #1
This Addendum contains one (1) page.
1) Please verify the date the bid is due. Bid currently provides Thursday, July 1, 2026 for all bid submissions.
July 1st is on a Wednesday.
a.) The Proposal Due Date should be Thursday July 2nd, 2026 at 11:00AM. An amended RFP document will be posted with the corrected date.
2) We spoke and toured the facility with one of the maintenance personnel. I will be bidding per the bid specifications and not the current equipment on site but looking for some information regarding the container for confidential paper only for the 8yd container. While on site we were shown that currently there is a covered 15yd container for confidential paper. Will the 8yd replacee the 15yd? Also are there any specifications on disposal of this container or will the material already have been shredded before being placed inside?
a.) We need it to be a 15 yard, when it is emptied we will need a certificate of destruction. Not everything is shredded beforehand.
3) How many 90 gallon toters will be needed for both tin and glass.
a.) We will need between 15 and 20 recycling totes emptied every week which are located in lots lower
J and H.
