General: The Service Provider will provide an RFC 4364 Layer-3 VPN for the (12) 10G interfaces in diagram. Packets from any port can go to any port. (AKA, Any-to-Any Layer-3 VPN Service). All routing is IPv4. MTU for all (12) 10G interfaces is 4400.
Data Rate: Each of the (12) 10G interfaces can transmit and receive up to the full 10G Data Rate.
Physical Media Type: Single Mode Fiber for 10G handoffs
Routing Protocols: The Service Provider will configure External Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) on (4) of the interfaces that connect to the DISN
J-PE routers. Static routing will be configured on the (8) interfaces at the Microsoft facility. The service provider will advertise the directly connected IP addresses from the Microsoft sites into the Layer-3 VPN. The J-PE will advertise (4) /30 routes for the Devices co-located with the
Routers at Location A and B to the SP. The maximum number of BGP routes advertised from each J-PE to the Service Provider will not exceed
25 routes.
Addressing of the 10G Interfaces: All (12) interfaces will be configured with /30 IPv4 addresses assigned from DISN IP address space.
Specific IP addresses TBD.
Latency, Packet Loss, Jitter, and Availability:
Round-trip Latency: <=100 ms
Packet loss not to exceed: 0 .02% (99.98) (1 out of 5,000 packets can be dropped)
End-to-End Jitter: <=20ms
Availability of Service Provider co-located Provider Edge Routers: 99.7%
