RE:
Scope of Work for Hazardous Waste Clear Out The Temperate Tree Fruit and Vegetable Research Unit in Wapato Washington has chemical inventory which needs to be documented, packed and transported for disposal in accordance with state and federal regulations.
In order to dispose of the waste in accordance with Washington state regulations, it is necessary the location be granted an episodic waste generation permit by the Washington State Department of Ecology. Application review for this permit requires 30-60 days to be processed and it is required the location establish a 60 day window of activity when applying. It is critical the waste is removed during the time frame or the permit will expire. Only one episodic waste permit can be granted in any 12 month period.
Based on the general inventory listed provided by the location, the following is required.
· Specialist(s) to travel to location (TTVRU). Estimate is for 2 individuals for 2 days at a minimum.
· Provide DOT waste shipping containers
· Onsite packing of inventory while initiating proper documentation to include EPA (and DOT if also required) manifests
· Logging of all waste material
· Profiling and segregation of waste
· Packing to be in accordance with DOT and any other shipping regulations
· Final closure, transportation and disposal of waste
· All must be completed within the 60 day window established in the Washington State Department of Ecology episodic waste permit.
Inventory lists of chemicals for disposal attached as well as photographs to help provide a visual image of the work involved. Note that the photographs are not all inclusive, while the inventory lists are.
