REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI)

SOLICITATION NO: GS-02P-14-PJ-C-0039

CARPET, PAINTING AND COVE BASE PROJECT

Question 1.) Are there specific hours designated for material deliveries and is there permitted access to a loading dock/ramp and freight elevators? Are appointments required for deliveries ?

Hours for loading dock are 7am to 3:30pm. Freight elevators may be used all day. A loading dock pass is required by the Building Management Office.

Question 2.) Is there on-site parking available for contractors ? Will contractors be issued special access badges upon screening to facilitate ease of access to work location ?

No Parking for contractors, just loading and unloading materials and equipment. Contractors will be required to wear a work badge once working in the federal building. Building Management will be able to provide work badges.

Question 3.) Are floor plans available?

Yes. We have floor plans, they will be attached with this amendment.

Question 4.) What are the normal hours of work ? Is overtime and weekend work permitted ?

Normal working hours are 7am to 6pm. This work is required to be performed after hours, after 6pm.

Question 5.) Are there any restrictions to accessing the work area during normal work hours ?

There can be some work performed during normal working hours, such as moving.

Question 6.) Is the pine wood chair rail material prefinished and preselected ? What are material attachments ( e.g. adhesive, nail or screw fasteners ) hardware requirements and expected condition at floor ?

Prefinished wood chair rail preferred.

Question 7.) Are there any specific insurance requirements for contractor and/or subcontractor ?

Payment, Performance bonds and company insurance

Question 8.) Is there temporary storage available on-site for existing furniture ?

There is storage available.

Question 9.) What is the preferred material for cove base e.g. carpet, vinyl etc ? Any specific paint or stain material requirements ?

This decision will be made after award. However, paint for doors and convector shall be oil based and drywall shall be water based.

Question 10.) Is there access to a dumpster for discarding waste materials and recyclables ?

Yes, there is access to a dumpster in the loading dock

Question 11.) What are the manufacturer, line and size to: Carpet, VCT, and Cove Base?

We do not have the manufacturer name (we need samples) carpet 24" x 24" vct: 12" x12" covebase: 4" vinyl

Question 12.). What are the Working Hours: Normal Hours, Afterhours or Weekends.

Work should be carried during non-normal working hours, but moving services can be performed during normal working hours.

Question 13.) Will this project will be phased out, if so number of rooms we will be getting access at one time.

We need to address this question with the customer once project is awarded.

Question 14.) Who will be responsible to move desks/furniture's inside rooms to accommodate carpet removal & installation

Contractor is responsible for the moving services.

Question 15.). Typical Ceiling Heights for Walls to be painted?

Walls are typically 8 feet high.

Question 16.) What forms are needed with the Price and Technical Proposal?

I must receive separate technical and cost proposal (no specific form for this). However, I must receive Financial Form 527 with your proposal. Form 527 is attached to this amendment.
