FedBizOpps Special Notice: Global Network Enterprise Construct (GNEC) Update w/AC09 Lessons Learned-Fort Bragg, NC Synopsis:

The Army’s Program Executive Office for Enterprise Information Systems (PEO EIS) will sponsor a Global Network Enterprise Construct (GNEC) Update with Austere Challenge ’09 (AC09) Lessons Learned for industry Thursday, 13 August, at the Fort Bragg Officer’s Club, 4930 Armistead and Totten Streets, Fort Bragg, North Carolina 28310.

The purpose of this conference is to brief industry, both small and large companies, on lessons learned from the Army’s AC09 Operation Evaluation Exercise. LTG Jeffrey Sorenson, CIO/G-6, will be the featured speaker followed by briefings on AC09 Lessons Learned and the future Fixed Regional Hub Node (RHN), equipment displays, and a tour of the RHN site.

The AC09 Operational Validation (OPVAL) provided the Army an initial look at GNEC’s technical and user challenges. The exercise included simulated deployment of the 18th Fires Brigade with the 18th’s data, information and services seamlessly transferred from their home station into a virtual deployed environment. The exercise provided several lessons learned in manpower, training, and organizational issues as well as technical issues such as data and application replication and virtualization, and bandwidth utilization.

This event will provide the Army an opportunity to share those lessons learned with industry.

Registration will begin Monday, July 20th and close August 5th. THERE WILL BE NO ON-SITE REGISTRATION. The registration fee is $100 and will include continental breakfast, lunch, refreshments, and meeting materials.
