1. Project Description

1.1. Summary

Dane County is seeking bids from qualified contractors for the Garfoot Creek Bridge Construction, located at CTH KP in the Town of Cross Plains. This project involves the demolition and replacement of an existing highway bridge and roadway approaches, and is being delivered under a lump sum contract.

The goal of this project is to replace the CTH KP bridge over Garfoot Creek. Work is expected to be performed in coordination with adjacent landowner access, and must comply with all applicable county specifications, ordinances, or local permitting requirements.

Interested vendors should have demonstrated experience in bridge and roadway construction and the ability to manage projects of similar size and complexity. All questions must be submitted by

Wednesday, March 25, 2026 and bid packages are due by Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at 2:00 pm.

1.2. Background

This project is part of ongoing county effort to replace aging roadway infrastructure and addresses safety concerns around failing infrastructure .The existing structure shows numerous signs of deterioration making this upgrade a priority for the Dane County Highway and Transportation

Department operations.

Key considerations for vendors include maintenance of creek flow via temporary water diversion, limited staging space due to environmentally sensitive areas and a need for minimizing operational disruptions by completing work within a project schedule. The County encourages all bidders to review the site conditions carefully and propose solutions that align with the project goals, within the scope and specifications provided.
