About this file

This is a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document for the FY26 Regional Pediatric Prevention Network (RPPN) grant program, HRSA-26-070, updated July 9, 2026. The document addresses a discrepancy in the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) regarding attachment ordering and clarifies the budget distribution requirements for cooperative agreements.

The FAQ establishes that applicants must follow the attachment order specified on page 25 of the NOFO, which includes: workplan, logic model, staffing plan and job descriptions, bio sketches, letters of commitment, agreements with other entities, project organizational chart, tables and charts, and geographic area of influence. Attachments 8 and 9 count toward the application page limit, as do any additional attachments 10-15. For the maximum award amount of $11.25 million, the NOFO mandates equal funding distribution among participating centers after the primary recipient allocates up to $500,000 for administrative and management responsibilities. The remaining funds must be distributed equally to each participating center, including the primary recipient. The FAQ provides a calculation example: for a five-center application requesting the maximum award, each center would receive $2.15 million annually after the primary recipient's $500,000 allocation, with each center submitting a complete budget narrative for their subaward.

File names: You can find guidance for naming your files in the Application Guide.

When applying for the maximum award amount, should each participating center budget an equal share of the available funding after the primary recipient's allocation?

The NOFO has an equal funding distribution requirement. It requires that, after the primary recipient budgets up to $500,000 for administrative and management responsibilities, the remaining cooperative agreement funds be distributed equally among the participating centers, including the primary recipient.

The budgets should reflect the equal allocation available to each participating center, consistent with the NOFO requirement.

For example, if you are requesting the maximum $11.25 million and if your application includes 5 centers, after the $500,000 allocation for the primary recipient, each center would request an equal $2.15 million for each year of the project. A complete budget narrative for each center subaward would accompany this request.
