About this file

This is a Request for Information (RFI) issued by the FBI's Laboratory Division seeking information about Direct Amplification kits capable of processing DNA databasing samples for upload to the National DNA Index System (NDIS). The RFI (number BAS2550523) requires vendors to have NDIS-approved kits that use a 1.2mm punch, have reaction volumes from 10-25ul, and provide a minimum reaction size of 1,000 rxn with capability to deliver at least 1,200 kits annually to the FBI Laboratory in Quantico, VA within 30-45 business days of ordering.

The RFI is open to both small and large businesses, with responses due by February 5th, 2025 at 4:00 PM EST. Questions must be submitted to Contracting Officer Bryan Lane by January 21st, 2025. Vendors must provide capability statements limited to 5 pages detailing their ability to meet requirements, along with company information including DUNS number, UEI, CAGE code, and business size classification. The FBI notes a preference for kits larger than 1,000 reaction size rxn, and vendors must provide on-site validation/training if the kit is not currently validated in their laboratory. This is for market research only and does not constitute a solicitation or guarantee of contract award.
