Performance Work Statement
BI-ANNUAL DORMITORY DRYER VENT CLEANING
2 April 2024 PURPOSE: To avoid a potential and common fire hazard caused by excessive lint build up, improve dryer dry times, and avoid costly repairs to dryers. Per Air Force Instruction 91-203 in section 41.3.7.4., “Ensure dryers are vented to the outside and dryer exhaust pipes are cleaned as needed to prevent buildup of flammable lint.”
SCOPE OF WORK: The contractor shall 1) check any obstructions behind the dryer at the connection and dislodge any access lint, or debris from the line with a high power blower or vacuum, 2) apply long rods with brushes on the ends to breakaway any clogged areas in the duct line, and 3) apply high powered vacuum to outside vent to remove and clean up remaining debris at the end of the duct work.
Exterior dryer vents are located on the sides of each building on all 3 floors. Max height for dryer vent is ±30ft. Dryers are a combination of stackable and single units. Dryers are commercial (Speed Queen) apart from 2 residential type dryers (LG, GE brand).
