CSO: FA4610-23-S-C001
Call No.: 0003 Area of Interest (AOI): Dental 3D Printer, High-Temperature Oven, & a Zirconia-Enabled Mill
Description:
Space Launch Delta 30 (SLD 30) is a team of mission-ready Airmen and Guardians delivering assured access to space for warfighters and our Nation through the Western Range. To succeed in accomplishing SLD 30 strategic objectives, we must change the way we operate. We must think differently about how we work, how we make decisions, and the tools we use. To transform, we must innovate to pace with the evolving trade space. To facilitate our digital transformation and innovation efforts, we’re looking to partner with innovative small businesses that can provide solutions or potential new capabilities to aid in fulfilling requirements, close capability gaps, or provide potential technological advancements.
Need:
Digital dentistry is a transformative force in modern dental practice, reshaping the way care is provided through the integration of digital technologies in diagnosis, treatment planning, and restoration processes. From the utilization of computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) systems for designing dental restorations to leveraging 3D printing technology for creating surgical guides and orthodontic appliances, these advancements have revolutionized patient care. While Vandenberg SFB dental clinic possesses some digital dentistry capabilities, maximizing the potential of current technology requires investments in key components such as a 3D printer, a high-temperature oven, and a zirconia-enabled mill. The incorporation of these elements would enable the clinic to expand its treatment offerings, including single-day zirconia crowns/bridges, orthodontic trays akin to Invisalign, precise dental implant placements aided by radiographic/surgical guides, and personalized treatment plans, all contributing to enhanced precision, accuracy, efficiency, and ultimately, improved patient outcomes.
