MOPC FY 2019 GAR Announcement August 1, 2018
Community Mediation Center Grant Program
Supplemental Solicitation for Youth Community Project Grants
The Massachusetts Office of Public Collaboration (MOPC) of the University of Massachusetts Boston is accepting grant applications from pre-qualified community mediation centers for youth-related community project grants for FY 2019 under the Massachusetts Community Mediation Center Grant Program pursuant to G. L. Ch. 75, Section 47.
Grants awarded under the Community Mediation Center Grant Program support private non-profit and public agency-based community mediation centers in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. In order to be eligible to apply for this supplemental project funding, centers must have already applied for state operational funding for FY 2019 showing that they are complying with the Twelve-Point Model of community mediation and have a proven track record of service to their communities. Total state funding available for youth community project grants is estimated to range between $75,000 and $100,000 depending on the Grant Program’s final FY 2019 state budget appropriation. This funding is projected to cover community project challenge grant awards of up to $15,000 for up to twelve (12) pre-qualified centers. The awards are contingent upon state funding. Community mediation centers receiving grant awards will be required to raise a match and will be periodically evaluated by MOPC to ensure quality of services and accountability for public funding. Grant applicants must submit one (1) electronic copy in PDF format by Saturday, September 1, 2018 and (1) hard copy document postmarked on or before Tuesday, September 4, 2018.
