UNITED STATES
NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION
WASHINGTON, D.C. 20555-0001
SUBJECT: Registration in FedConnect®
In October 2013, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) deployed a Strategic Acquisition System (STAQS) that utilizes a two way communication tool designed to link the NRC with contractors, vendors, offerors, and applicants (recipients), referred to as FedConnect. In STAQS, grants will transmit and electronically post to FedConnect in order to better manage transactions and interactions with applicants and grantees. FedConnect provides a true, bi-directional communication throughout the pre-award, award, and post award phases. In order to take advantage of the many benefits gained from using this service, we require all recipients to register with FedConnect at no cost to the recipients.
FedConnect will allow applicants to review Funding Opportunity Announcements, register for future notifications, and track application status. When you are registered in FedConnect, you will receive grant awards directly through FedConnect in real time, immediately after the Grants Officer approves the award. In addition, many post award activities may be managed through FedConnect such as the submission of progress and financial reports. FedConnect benefits include:
• Search federal grant opportunities
• Email notifications of postings
• Bi-directional communication with the government
• Electronic audit trail of all activity
• Electronic submission of grant application including receipt
• Electronic delivery of award
• Electronic acknowledgement capability
• Ability to include attachments with application and communication
• Ability to submit Federal Financial Reports (FFR) & Performance Progress Reports
(PPR) through FedConnect
• Post award communication support
