About this file
This document is a Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (PUR 7776) issued by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC). The agency is seeking to procure a real-time, wave-powered oceanographic profiler from a single source, Del Mar Oceanographic (DMO). The desired instrument must be capable of housing oceanographic sensors, transmitting data in near-real-time via satellite, and allowing for potential integration of additional FWRI-HAB equipment. The estimated dollar amount for this 3-year contract is up to $150,000. FWC has determined that DMO is the only vendor that can provide the complete unit with the required capabilities and integration.
The justification for the single-source acquisition is that DMO is the only vendor that can produce the platform with the necessary sensor mounting, ballasting, and testing to ensure a successful deployment. Prospective vendors are requested to provide information regarding their ability to supply the required commodities or services by June 1, 2023. If it is determined that the services or commodities are only available from a single source, FWC will provide notice of the intended decision to enter a single-source purchase contract.
