The addendum, posted on March 5, 2026, addresses nine questions submitted by prospective bidders regarding project requirements and specifications. All bid responses must be received by 4:00 PM ET on Monday, March 16, 2026. The project involves renovating a ground floor room into a shower facility and requires bidders to be prequalified Certified General Contractors or Certified Building Contractors licensed under Florida Statutes Chapter 489. The project timeline extends 60 calendar days from Notice to Proceed to Substantial Completion, with an additional 30 days to Final Completion, subject to liquidated damages of $250 per calendar day for delays.
Key clarifications provided in the addendum include confirmation that background checks are not required for workers, hallway carpet replacement must be done with new carpet similar in appearance if necessary, and an asbestos renovation survey has been completed and is available in the project specifications booklet. The FWC will pay State Fire Marshal and City of Tallahassee permit application fees; however, bidders must identify and obtain all necessary permits and include permit costs in their bids. Bids will be accepted from both General Contractors and Certified Building Contractors. The addendum provides detailed specifications for Luxury Vinyl Tile, ceramic tile products (basis of design: Florida Tile), thin-set mortar (dry-set portland cement), and grout (water-cleanable epoxy). Prospective bidders must submit a completed Confidentiality Exemption Form to Elbert Orellana at elbert.orellana@myfwc.com to receive electronic copies of construction plans and all associated technical specifications and documents.
