About this file

This document is an addendum to a solicitation issued by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) for the Timber Inventory Multi-Area project, Solicitation No. FWC 24/25-34. The addendum provides answers to questions raised by potential bidders regarding the procurement, including the availability of spatial data such as plot and road shapefiles, the definition of an inaccessible stand, and clarification on the inventory area. All responses to the subject solicitation must be received by 4:00 PM (ET) on Tuesday, November 19, 2024. The contract will involve conducting a timber inventory across multiple areas managed by the FWC in the state of Florida, primarily in Leon County.

The addendum also provides information about the protest process, should a vendor wish to challenge the procurement. Pricing details, set-asides, incumbents, funding sources, and other salient commercial terms are not included in this document, as it is focused on providing clarification and answers to technical questions from potential bidders.

FWC SOLICITATION ADDENDUM 2

BEGIN ADDENDUM

QUESTION #1

I was wondering if you could provide the plot and road shapefiles for the subject mentioned RFQ?

ANSWER #1

The timber stand, area boundary, and road geodatabases are now provided via the links in the advertisement description. If you have trouble viewing the links, please contact the procurement manager, John Nordmeyer, at john.nordmeyer@myfwc.com.

QUESTION #2

In reference to section 6.2.1, what is the definition of an inaccessible stand?

ANSWER #2

An inaccessible stand would be prohibitively isolated and distant from any road or trail, often by natural features that would prevent practical management or harvest (e.g., a pocket of pines surrounded by a floodplain swamp). Any stands considered inaccessible by the awarded vendor will be submitted to the FWC Project Manager so that they can be reviewed for concurrence. If the FWC Project Manager deems the stand is accessible, the awarded vendor will need to establish plots within the stand and collect data as per the Scope of

Work.

QUESTION #3

Our question is whether FWC can provide any spatial data that serves as the foundation of the plot estimates. Specifically, can you provide shapefiles of the

"Mixed" stands and the "Pine" stands planned for inventory. It would be helpful to review the inventory area on aerial imagery.

ANSWER #3

The timber stand, area boundary, and road geodatabases are now provided via the links in the advertisement description. If you have trouble viewing the links, please contact the procurement manager, John Nordmeyer, at john.nordmeyer@myfwc.com.
