About this file

This document is an addendum to a competitive solicitation issued by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) for the Purchase & Delivery of Triploid Grass Carp. The solicitation seeks bids to provide triploid grass carp to stock approved water bodies within the state of Florida. The estimated annual quantity ranges from 4,550 to 8,813 adult and fingerling carp, with an average of 5,779 over the last five years. Bids are due by 2:00 PM ET on November 5, 2024. The contract will allow the FWC Hatchery to purchase fingerlings for their tanks as well.

The addendum provides clarification that the FWC is unable to specify a fixed quantity in the solicitation, as the number of approved water bodies to be stocked each year is unknown. Vendors are instructed to provide a price per delivered fish, including a delivery fee per loaded mile, that would apply regardless of order quantity. The solicitation is open to all qualified vendors registered in the MyFloridaMarketPlace system and with Sunbiz prior to the bid opening.

FWC 24/25-28 ADDENDUM #1 2

BEGIN ADDENDUM #1

Question #1: Unfortunately, there is no way to bid on this contract using a "price per delivered fish" unless we have at least a minimum number of fish that will be ordered. I could give you a price per fish FOI Keo, Arkansas, with a delivery fee per loaded mile, which would apply whether you ordered one fish or 1,000 fish. Normally, a bid states a specific number of fish wanted or at least a lot size so freight can be adequately determined.

Answer #1: The estimated number of TGCs needed each year could range from 4,550 to 8,813 (adult and fingerlings) depending on the number of approved water bodies we are able to stock. The average number of adult and fingerlings ordered over the last five years is 5,779. Unfortunately, we do not know the number of water bodies that will be approved each year.

This bid will also allow the Hatchery to purchase fingerlings for their tanks.
