About this file

This document is a set of Salient Characteristics for two (2) 10,000-gallon fuel bladders and one (1) fuel berm required to support the 628th Air Base Wing's MARS STARCART fueling platform.

The fuel bladders must be made of polyurethane material, have a "pillow" shape when filled, be capable of withstanding hydrocarbon fuels, and have double thickness to support dynamic operations. The berm must be a 25x28x2 self-rising secondary containment berm, also made of polyurethane and capable of withstanding hydrocarbon fuels. Both the bladders and berm must have a one-year warranty on the welded seams/manufacturer's work.

This Salient Characteristics document is related to a Federal Contract Opportunity issued by the Department of the Air Force Air Mobility Command for the fuel bladders and berm, with a Solicitation Number of F1M3T14165A001.

Salient Characteriscs Bladder & Berm Package

Fuels Management Flight, JB Charleston SC

• General Overview:

The 628th Air Base Wing purchased the MARS STARCART as an investment against emerging threats from near peer adversaries. The STARCART offers the ability to conduct fueling operaons with a minimal footprint. To ulize the STARCART, addional support systems are needed. The 628 Fuel’s Management Flight is requesng (2)
