About this file

This document is a Narrative Statement related to a federal grant opportunity from the USDA Forest Service. It solicits responses from potential partners to explore future projects that align with the Forest Service's goals of enhancing knowledge about grassland communities, their ecological potential, and improving understanding of restoration approaches and their effectiveness. The Forest Service is seeking partners to leverage existing ecological classification systems and monitoring methodologies to determine grassland ecological potential and restoration effectiveness across the National Grasslands and National Tallgrass Prairie. Key focus areas include informing future restoration prioritization, maximizing conservation return on investments, and exploring correlations between restoration effectiveness and associated benefits such as wildlife habitat, carbon sequestration, and pollinator populations. The related federal grant opportunity is titled "Grassland Ecological Potential and Restoration Effectiveness Evaluation" and is funded under the USDA Forest Service's Partnership Agreements program (CFDA 10.699).
