Responses to Questions Request for Information (RFI) FRB-19-001

This document provides responses to questions received regarding RFI (FRB-19-001). The document will be updated to include responses to additional questions received through March 27, 2019.

Q1. Does the Board already have an estimated date for publishing/release of the next RFP?

The Board does not have an estimated date at this time.

Q2. Given this is an RFI not an RFP when is the pricing necessary? We have not previously seen a request for pricing information on an RFI, what is the purpose of pricing for an

RFI?

The Board has requested that the price table attached to the RFI be completed with estimated pricing as part of the submission from interested vendors. The Board is focused on learning more about potential pricing structures that the marketplace affords than specific pricing at this time. The estimated pricing will allow the Board to understand a vendor’s pricing structure and potential pricing structures for currency shipment services.

Q3. In order to provide the information requested for the RFI we were wondering if the Board would extend the established deadline for RFI submissions.

The Board will extend the current submission deadline to April 03, 2019 at 3:00 PM

EST.

Q4. Can you list requirements for direct surface shipments?

All of the specifications have been provided under the General Specifications in the RFI as well as under the Shipment Specifications for direct surface shipments, and Pick Up and Delivery Specifications.

Q5. Referencing question 4 under the Submission Information, can you give us pallet dimensions?

The dimensions of a pallet are approximately 50” high, 34” long and 43” deep.

Q6. Do all of the insurance requirements in Attachment 5 apply to all of the different types of shipments? Some of the insurance seems high for carriers who only do over- the-road or direct air shipments.

The Board has provided Attachment 5, Insurance Coverage and Limits, in order to gain an understanding of a vendor’s ability to meet potential insurance requirements that would be applicable for the types of shipments conducted and to express the liabilities involved. Please provide any comments you may have regarding the insurance requirements outlined, including your ability to meet or concerns in meeting those requirements, as part of your submission to the RFI.
