About this file

The document provided is an Addendum to an Invitation to Bid (ITB) issued by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) for its division of the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) to establish a contract for vehicle transport services. The ITB seeks a transportation and logistics company to transport motor vehicles, including sedans, trucks, and SUVs, utilizing car hauling trailers/open car carrier trailers to various locations throughout the state of Florida. The ITB allows for a maximum load of seven vehicles per transport, with the frequency and total number of vehicles transported during the contract period yet to be determined. The Department requires pickup and delivery within two business days of notification.

The addendum addresses questions received from potential bidders, including clarifying that all vehicle wheels must be off the ground during transport, the lack of historical rate data as this is a new solicitation, and the Department's intention to utilize the contract for emergency transport of armored vehicles, which must occur within 24 hours of notification. The addendum also confirms this is the first time the Department is seeking bids for this service, and the contract term and any renewal options are not specified.
