About this file
This document is a bid award notification from the Florida Keys Electric Cooperative Association, Inc. (FKEC) for FKEC Bid #25-22, which solicited specifications for the purchase of twenty new cap bank racks. The bid was awarded to Irby Utilities on May 22, 2025, following a non-public bid opening process. FKEC explicitly notes that they cannot share the details of the winning proposal.
The cooperative emphasizes its unique status under Florida Statute Title X, Chapter 119, asserting that it does not meet the definition of a "state and local government agency" and therefore is not subject to the full enforcement of public records statutes. FKEC reserves the right to protect its own privacy and that of its bidders and vendors, referencing the "Sunshine Law" while providing a link to additional statutory information. The document serves primarily as an official notification of bid award for the specific procurement of cap bank racks.
