About this file

This document is an award notification from the Florida Keys Electric Cooperative Association, Inc. (FKEC) for Bid #24-22, which solicited specifications for the purchase of seven new reclosers. The bid was awarded to G & W Electric Company on December 17, 2024, with the cooperative explicitly noting that since this was not a public bid opening, they cannot share the detailed winning proposal information.

FKEC emphasizes that under Florida Statute Title X, Chapter 119, they do not meet the definition of a "state and local government agency" and therefore are not subject to statutory enforcement. The cooperative reserves the right to protect its own privacy and the business information of its bidders and vendors. They provide a link to the Florida legislative statutes for further reference on the application of the "Sunshine Law" and transparency requirements.
