About this file

This justification for other than full and open competition requests approval to procure maintenance services for the Transmission Atlas and FirstRate Generator software from Energy Visuals on a sole-source basis. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission owns the unique software, which provides cost information for NERC power flow cases and analysis of the FirstRate generator database. The anticipated value of the maintenance contract is $103,400. As the original developer of the software, Energy Visuals is the only source that can supply maintenance and support services to ensure the software continues functioning properly. Market research confirmed Energy Visuals as the sole provider of these services, having previously supplied the software and maintenance under earlier contracts. The justification requests approval in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 for there being only one responsible source that can meet the agency's requirements.

The related federal contract opportunity is a solicitation from the Department of Energy's Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for maintenance of the Transmission Atlas software. No further details are provided about response dates, award dates, pricing terms or other salient information.
