Section 2.6: Fire Main and Sprinkler Systems The Specific Fire Main Sprinkler System are located in Building’s F, H (Hangar 1), I (Hangar 2), and CG Moorings at Ballast Point. These “wet” systems are electronically monitored by sensors through the main alarm panel in Building E and main alarm panel at CG Moorings at Ballast Point. Building “F” also had a “dry” system with a pre-action activation system that can be manually activated by a pull station or automatically activated through the wet bulb sprinkler heads. The various components (valves, piping, sensors, etc.), and individual sprinkler heads for these independent systems are located throughout various shops, garages, passageways, hangar bays, and offices of both the first and second floors of these buildings. These system are directly tied into the base Fire Main which is supplied from the city water supply. Additionally, risers are located both inside and outside of the buildings supplying water to the second floors. All sprinkler heads are equipped with a fusible plug that once removed/melted will allow water to flow.

Contractor will perform annual inspections of sprinkler heads, semi-annual flow testing and annual inspection and lubrication of all fire main sprinkler system valves and components at 2710 North Harbor Drive and CG Moorings at Ballast Point. All inspection and test are to comply with NFPA 25

2.6.1 Inspections-

Contractor will perform the following inspection on all fire main sprinkler heads located throughout Sector San Diego/CG Moorings at Ballast Point to comply with NFPA 25.

· Annual inspection of sprinkler heads. Annual inspection and lubrication of all stems, caps, plugs, and threads ion each fire main supply valves including drain lines and testing valves.

2.6.2 Tests-

Contractor will perform the following tests on all fire main sprinkler heads located throughout Sector San Diego/CG Moorings at Ballast Point to comply with NFPA 25.

· Semi-annual flow testing and pressure testing on each building system followed by complete drainage of “dry”portions of the various systems.

2.6.3 Maintenance-

Contractor will perform the following maintenance for all fire main sprinkler heads located throughout Sector San Diego/CG Moorings at Ballast Point to comply with NFPA 25.

· Annual inspection and lubrication of all stems, caps, plugs, and threads on each fire main supply valve including drain lines and testing valves.
