About this file

This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for handrailing fabrication and installation at the James A. Haley Veterans Administration Medical Center in Tampa, Florida. The project involves fabricating and installing approximately 64 feet of steel pipe guard rails in two separate locations: a visitor drop-off area and a delivery area. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, and equipment, with specifications including blue powder coating for one section and priming (without painting) for another section. The performance period is 120 calendar days after Notice to Proceed, with work to be completed during first shift hours and potentially on weekends to minimize patient care disruption.

Key selection criteria require the contractor to have three years of experience in handrails/metal fabrications and provide two project examples from the past two years. Strict requirements are outlined for contractor employee conduct, identification, and performance, including wearing contractor badges, maintaining professional appearance, and coordinating work schedules with the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR), Daniel Holdridge. The project is part of a Sources Sought Notice by the Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Integrated Service Network 8 (VISN 8), aimed at identifying potential qualified sources for the handrailing installation.
