Scope of Work:
Fort Worth Housing Solutions is seeking quotes for irrigation service at WITC/@the Six, located at 5021 Avenue G, Fort Worth TX 78751.
A. Barrel Plumbing and Manifolding
a. Link the two existing rain barrels using a bottom-plumbed manifold system for even drawing and filling
b. Install an inline 100-micron filter at the barrel outlet.
c. Expand water source to all 28 raised beds by connecting additional irrigation system to current irrigation system control panel
Additional Details and Clarifications
Install a water transfer/booster pump connected to the two existing rainwater barrels to provide sufficient water pressure for operating a standard garden hose and irrigating all 28 raised garden beds.
B. Water Pump Installation
a. Mount and install an on-demand water pump to increase water flow pressure from the existing rain barrels, allowing the gardener to effectively utilize a standard water hose to irrigate the raised garden beds.
b. Install the pump with an accessible on/off switch for operational control, allowing the gardener to activate the pump only when watering is needed. The pump should be equipped with an automatic low-water shutoff or float switch to prevent the pump from running dry and causing damage when the rain barrels are depleted.
c. Configure the pump system to support the connection of the existing rain barrels and provide adequate pressure for watering the 28 raised garden beds while maintaining ease of use for the full-time gardener.
C. Garden Irrigation System Expansion
a. Evaluate the existing irrigation system to determine available water supply, pressure, and capacity to support the additional garden irrigation zone(s).
b. Extend the existing irrigation system to provide dedicated irrigation coverage for the
28 raised garden beds, including installation of required piping, fittings, valves, and control components.
c. Install a separate irrigation zone/controller connection (if needed) to allow independent operation and scheduling of the garden irrigation area.
d. Install appropriate irrigation components (drip irrigation, soaker lines, or other approved methods) to provide efficient and consistent watering to all 28 raised beds.
Additional Details and Clarifications:
The intent of the garden irrigation expansion is to supplement the existing irrigation system by providing a reliable and consistent water delivery solution for the 28 raised garden beds. The expanded system will be programmed to operate on a set schedule outside of regular business hours, ensuring the garden receives adequate irrigation while allowing for efficient water management and reduced reliance on manual watering during operational hours.
D. Electrical Work
a. Complete all necessary wiring and conduit runs from the nearest power source to the pump location.
b. Integrate an automatic low-water cut-off switch into the system control.
Additional Details and Clarifications
Ensure all outdoor electrical connections and junction boxes are safely housed and weather-proofed to code.
