This RFP is seeking a provider for a convenient, high-quality, affordable, all-day option for early childcare for Commonwealth of Kentucky employees. The intent is to achieve childcare program rates lower than the average cost of childcare in Franklin County, Kentucky.

The program location will be the Rosenwald School Building located on the campus of Kentucky State University and will be named the Team Kentucky Childcare Center. The Commonwealth of Kentucky will provide for the leased space, major building maintenance, snow removal, landscape and utilities for the facility and will keep the facility in the appropriate condition for the successful provider to conduct the program. This will include compliance with all state and local governing regulations regarding childcare facility structures. Copies of the Local Zoning Approval and the State Building/Fire Marshal approval will be available to the awarded provider.

The following kitchen equipment is included with the facility: two (2) commercial grade food warmers, two (2) commercial grade food coolers, one (1) commercial grade oven/range, and two (2) commercial grade dishwashers. This kitchen equipment is provided “as is” with the Provider responsible for any repairs, maintenance or replacement. Onsite fixed playground equipment is included with the facility and may be viewed and inspected by Provider during the scheduled walk-thru of the Rosenwald School Building. The Provider will be responsible for basic maintenance and repair of playground equipment.

The Provider will cover the following: furniture, kitchen supplies, janitorial services, pest control, general maintenance, and any damage caused by the provider or program participants, optional utilities including cable and internet, insurance for contents and any other program operational expenses as required by law including liability insurance.

The Provider will be required to negotiate and execute a sublease of the Rosenwald building further defining the parties’ rights and responsibilities.
