WHFRTC has year-round accommodations including the Training Center Headquarters, Battalion/Brigade headquarters building, barracks and quarters for 800 troops, a 200 seat-dining hall, education center, Troop Medical Center, Helipad and a number of support facilities. WHFRTC also features live-fire ranges, hardened bivouac sites, a controlled humidity storage complex, maintenance facilities for military equipment the Unit Training Equipment Site (UTES), engagement skills training center, obstacle course and a 4,200-foot grass runway. The facilities are used primarily by the Kentucky Army National Guard (KYARNG) and by other National Guard units, Reserve and Active Component units from every branch of service as well as law enforcement units and civic organizations. The training area consist of mainly a maneuver area and contains Barracks and shower facilities, classroom spaces, a maintenance facility that supports the infantry battalion in neighboring communities as well as units utilizing the site.
