About this file
This is a Solicitation Modification document (Addenda #3) issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky's Division of Engineering and Contract Administration for a construction project under RFB 785 2000000215. The project involves interior renovation of approximately 3,500 square feet of classroom and laboratory space on the third floor of the Funderburk Building located on the Eastern Kentucky University campus in Richmond, Kentucky. The renovation scope includes modifications to partition walls, doors, frames, flooring, wall and suspended acoustic ceiling finishes, fire protection, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and communication systems, along with permanent removal of existing casework and installation of new stainless-steel lab casework, fume hood, and ceiling-supported snorkel systems. A pre-bid meeting and site tour was scheduled for October 9, 2019 at 2:00 PM Eastern Time in the lobby of the Funderburk Building, with representatives from Facilities and Support Services, the Department of Criminal Justice Training, and Division of Engineering present. The original bid closing date was modified twice through addenda, with the final closing date set for October 22, 2019 at 2:00 PM. Bids were to be submitted in sealed envelopes to the Finance Division of Engineering & Contract Administration at The Bush Building in Frankfort, Kentucky.
The project is classified under Commodity Code 912 (Construction Services, General) and is procured as a general construction services contract through a formal competitive bidding process. Bidders were required to identify their firm's position as either a prime bidder, miscellaneous subcontractor, material supplier, or other. Plans and specifications were available for download without charge through the State Plan Room at no cost, with hard copies available for purchase. All project documents and submissions were required to be processed through the Owner's Document Collaboration System (eCommunications). Contact information was provided for project representatives including Margie Jacobs of Tate Hill Jacobs Architects, Inc., and State procurement officials. Online bidding was prohibited, and bids received after the specified closing time and date would be considered late and potentially ineligible for consideration.
