Submission Checklist

95 Points Bidder with the lowest delivery time receives maximum score.

5 Points

Addendum #1 10/7/2026 – Questions and Answers

1) Is your trucks set up for ground speed off of the hydraulic system and the current controller? Or are you asking for the spreader supplier to supply the controls? Henderson current electric prewet controls are not ground speed capable. Just asking for clarification.

A1: The liquid dispensing system is required to operate in conjunction with ground-speed-oriented spreader controls and provide linear chemical flow from 3 to 50 MPH. The spreader supplier shall provide a complete and operational liquid dispensing system, including the necessary controls/components required to meet this requirement. The truck's hydraulic system is separate from the electric liquid dispensing system.

2) On our tanks we can supply either 200-gallon tanks or 400-gallon tanks. I am assuming we would have to go with the 400?

A2: Please see revision to change standard (2) 60-gallon tanks to minimum of 200 gallon, not to exceed 250-gallon tanks. Tank upgrade option will now be for (2) 400-gallon tanks.

3) We are unclear about the offset chute. Can you provide us with a picture?

A3: The offset chute is an optional configuration in lieu of the center discharge chute specified for the base unit. The solicitation does not provide a specific dimensional drawing for the offset chute. Vendors should provide their standard offset-chute configuration meeting the functional requirements of the solicitation. Any necessary modifications to the leg stand shall be included in the option price.

4) I cannot find the sketch of the dump body on the website on where I found the bid. Can you please attach it for us on this e-mail or direct me where to look.

A4: See attached drawings.

5) I see where the spec is for 304 stainless steel which we can build but we can offer 201 stainless steel as well. Can we option that for you guys to look at?

A5: No. The specification requires Type 304 stainless steel for the specified stainless-steel components. Type 201 stainless steel is not an acceptable substitute.

6) Missing truck-body drawings Pages 7 and 9 reference an “attached sketch for truck body details,” but no truck-body sketches appear in the 34-page solicitation PDF. Please provide the referenced sketches for both the tandem-axle and tri-axle dump bodies, including inside body dimensions, usable floor length, side height, tailgate configuration, latch locations, rear hydraulic-panel location and required clearances.

A6: See attached drawings

7) Dual auger versus conveyor conflict Please confirm that both spreaders require twin 7-inch variable-pitch augers with direct-drive hydraulic motors. The specifications also reference a conveyor chain, main drive sprocket, rear idler, “conveyor drive connector” and testing of a “chain drive mechanism.” Are those conveyor-related references inapplicable and to be disregarded?

Document Phase Document Description Page 6

2700000131 Final HIGHWAY MATERIAL SPREADERS Total Pages: 36

A7: Both spreaders are required to have twin 7-inch diameter variable-pitch augers with direct-drive motors coupled to the auger shafts. The references to a conveyor chain, main drive sprocket, rear idler, conveyor drive connector, and chain-drive mechanism are inconsistent with the specified dual-auger design. Those references should be disregarded. The solicitation will be clarified by addendum to remove the conflicting conveyor terminology.

8) Required hopper dimensions and capacity

Please provide the minimum and maximum acceptable overall length, width and height for both the 13 cubic yard and 16 cubic yard units. Also, is the stated hopper capacity measured struck level, water level or by another standard?

A8: The solicitation establishes the required hopper capacities as 13.0 cubic yards for the tandem-axle unit and 16.0 cubic yards for the tri-axle unit. The specification does not establish minimum or maximum overall hopper length, width, or height, nor does it identify a separate struck-level or water-level capacity measurement standard.

The unit shall fit within the profile of the body, not to exceed more than 4’ from the furthest point of the end of the truck, See Attached Drawing.

9) Tank-upgrade pricing

Please confirm that Lines 3 and 6 are incremental upcharges that replace the standard two 60-gallon tanks with two 230-gallon tanks—not the price of a separate tank package or additional tanks. Are 225 tanks acceptable?

A9: Yes. Lines 3 and 6 are optional tank-capacity upgrades to the standard liquid tank configuration. The standard configuration has been updated to consist of two (2) tanks with a minimum capacity of 200 gallons each, not to exceed 250 gallons. The upgrade is to two (2) 400-gallon tanks with stainless-steel mounting. The option price should therefore be the incremental upcharge to provide the upgraded tank configuration.

10) Our dual auger spreaders do not have a feedgate. Material control would need to be done with auger speed. Do you use chains to hold down spreader?

A10: The feed gate is not required on an auger driven system, any reference to a chain drive will be removed from the specification.

The specification has been updated to remove the requirement for each hopper to be supplied with 15 feet of 3/8-inch Grade 70 transport chain and four binders.

11) Our screen openings are 3-3/8” x 3-3/8” not the 2-1/2” x 2-1/2” that is called out. Is that acceptable?

A11: Yes, we will find this acceptable

This addendum will also extend the closing date to 10/20/2026. No other changes were made.
